If we’re honest, we pray maybe two or three times and then we try to manipulate the situation ourselves, or we pray and then we run 1 million scenarios in our head of how it could go wrong, or we pray not believing at all that God will actually do anything but because we think we’re supposed to.

Remember Sarah. I think I was judging her too harshly for her laughter. I've been reading and rereading Hebrews 11 this week and the second time through this verse jumped out at me. By faith Sarah herself received power to conceive, even when she was past the age, since she considered him faithful who had promised. Hebrews 11:11 Are you past the age? Or do you maybe just feel passed over? It takes practice to believe the promise before the proof.

What is this feeling in my chest? I recognize the tension of comparison that is sneaking in and stealing my joy. It leads me to envy almost every time I choose to compare. The enemy has been beating me here in this space where comparison becomes something more sinister and wants to hang around my heart. I don’t want to let him beat me anymore. I keep falling into this trap, and I have got to learn to fight back. The comparison trick that Satan traps us with, especially women,

Do you ever get lost in the volume of information we take in daily? I think this information overload can even invade my Bible reading. I need to just slow down. Taking in the Bible isn’t a race.

Do you ever feel like you try so hard, but you can't seem to curb your anxiety? Things just keep happening! I tend to focus on the wrong part of this verse. I put all my effort into controlling my anxious thoughts...but then I'm anxious about my thoughts. Which kinda defeats the point. the key word is actually the word instead.

God loves me. He wants me. God loves you. He wants you. He loved me when I was still in my sin, and He loves me today when I still fall short. He is God, I refuse to define Him by the expectations that I have for people.
