I have to choose belief to feel peace.
I have to choose belief to feel grace.
Then I have to choose to stand up in it.
“Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
“Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.”
Romans 5:1&2 ESV
What these verses really mean is that we have peace and grace abundantly when we choose to believe by faith. We obey and believe God first, then we receive.
I don't have to run endless scenarios, I just have to worry about believing God obediently.
If I take charge of my feelings by faith instead of being led by my feelings, my feelings can begin to flow from my mindset.
When I am feeling guilt of not getting everything done, or not being enough for everyone. In obedience I lead my thoughts to Jesus who paid for all my not enough. He is enough; I don't have to be.
When I believe in God's favor (that's grace), I'll stop trying to make decisions to please people because I already have love. I'll be secure in God's love.
This can bring peace to every decision, situation, and season.
As you head into advent, how can you choose belief in obedience?

Where do you need to lay down your expectations for
yourself and rest in peace that Jesus has already justified you?
Where do you need to lay down pleasing people and realize you are pleasing to God and rest in His love?
