When I pick a word for the year instead of a list of resolutions it simplifies my goals. It helps me focus on one thing. There is power in that focus.

So many of my thoughts and so much of my time are caught up in things that are important to the culture around me, but they aren't things that will matter in eternity.

This is an invitation to try this theory out. I am going to read Romans 8 for the next 8 days. I challenge you to pray through it with me. Notice I didn't just say read through it. I want you to see for yourself what happens when you meditate on scripture and pray it into action instead of just consume it. Repetition builds connection.

Sin is sneaky, when I leave the door cracked, it pushes its way into my life.

Obedience requires that we release what we currently have before God fills our hands, and for a minute they look empty.

God doesn't just forgive our sin, He can use our repentance to bring us closer and renew us.
