Father, thank you that your purposes for our children do not fail. We pray that You make them worthy of Your calling and fulfill every resolve for good and every work of faith by Your power (1Thessalonians 1:11). God, help us as parents to do the hard work of discipline and building up in Love. Then let us trust that You will finish the work that You started in them and You will bring them to completion. Let your name be glorified in our family. In Jesus name, Amen.
Interestingly the word fulfill means, “bring to completion or reality; achieve or realize (something desired, promised, or predicted).” Isn’t that beautiful. God will bring to completion what He has promised. Our children will be brought to completion or reality. God will not just complete His work in them but help them see reality, who they really already are. I love that fulfill also means to “achieve or realize”, there are so
many things God has promised that we
don’t need to achieve, we just need to
realize.
