Ask Again.

Repetition. It works.

That is what every personal trainer on the planet will tell you. It's not about how much weight it's about how many reps.

It doesn't just work with our bodies; it also works with our hearts. We repeat things we need to know by heart so that when we need to react, we won't even have to think about it. We need to understand prayer this way. It's a practice.

For my soul to grow strong I need repetition of prayer and obedience. It isn't one without the other.

God, I need your help today, on repeat.

God, forgive me and send me in the right direction, on repeat.

God, remind me who I am, on repeat.

When I am leaning on God, reaching out to God, listening to God all day on repeat; I will be directed and refueled as I go.

I can practice reacting lovingly to my children, and then ask forgiveness when I fail.

I can practice patience while keeping my home, doing all the mundane things that someone has to do...

and then tomorrow I can ask for energy again. Energy for lunches and laundry.

God does not run out of what I need. He repeatedly gives more.

Why am I afraid to ask on repeat?

Ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened to you. Matthew 7:7&8

God does not get tired of my voice. I can call out as many times as I need Him, and I find that the more I call, the more I need Him. I've needed Him all along; I just haven't always recognized it.

Evening, morning and noon I cry out in distress, and he hears my voice. Psalm 55:17 NIV

Father, thank you that you don't get tired or bored with me. Remind me that you delight in me the way I delight in my children, except you never run our of energy. I am not too needy for you, even when I call morning, noon, and night. Help me hold onto this truth. In Jesus' name, Amen.
